For Oil Slick, I developed a unique skincare product designed to remove beach tar from skin—combining functionality with an ocean-conscious brand ethos tailored for beachgoers and outdoor enthusiasts. I formulated a clean, effective solution and led the creative direction for packaging design that clearly communicated the product’s purpose while standing out on retail shelves. Every detail—from the bottle shape to the label texture—was thoughtfully crafted to reflect the fresh, clean, and adventurous spirit of the California coast.

Sales & Operations

To scale the business, I built a DTC e-commerce operation on Shopify, Amazon, and developed an ERP integration that seamlessly connects DTC and B2B sales channels, inventory, accounting, and 3PL fulfillment systems. I also secured wholesale partnerships with surf shops, corporate and boutique hotels, and outdoor retailers to expand the brand’s physical footprint. By aligning the brand with relevant lifestyle channels and managing key vendor relationships, Oil Slick was able to gain the majority market share within its niche—proving the power of creative execution paired with strategic distribution. Some of Oil Slick’s clients include Disney, Rosewood Hotels, Marriott Hotels, and more.

Branding & Retention

I built Oil Slick’s brand from the ground up, crafting a visual identity rooted in sustainability, California surf culture, and natural skincare. This included everything from the logo, typography, and color palette to branded content like product photography, storytelling copy, and digital campaigns. On the retention side, I implemented behavior-based email automation using Klaviyo, including welcome flows, post-purchase follow-ups, and seasonal promotions—resulting in increased customer lifetime value (LTV) and repeat purchase rates every season. Every touchpoint was designed to make the customer feel connected to the brand’s mission and lifestyle.
